It should be noted, we are more than grateful for all the support and donation that we have received this past year through La Ceiba Primary Forest Foundation. Due to the donations, we were able to build new enclosures for the rescue center.

Brought by the coast guards; this hawksbill sea turtle came very weakly and suffers from a harpoon wound in her shell. Also, she had wounds in her fins because the people who harpooned her tied them, so she couldn´t move.

On May 12 we started the campaign “Drive for Life” where the goal was to raise $15,000 to be able to buy a “new” second-hand truck.

On June 29 this Hawksbill sea turtle (Eretmochelys imbricata) was brought to the JRC from Cieneguita. This turtle was confiscated by the coast guards, who also helped to transport it to the JRC.

The sloth became the 16 national symbol here in Costa Rica.

Arrived with severe burns, this anteater came to the center after she got electrocuted trying to climb the power lines.

Jaguar Rescue Center obtained the Safe Travels stamp provided by the World Travel & Tourism Council

JRC had the opportunity to join Jennie Webber, a UK based wildlife artist, in a sloth drawing class, who helped raise money for the center.

Lollypop, Mati, Garibaldi and Preciosa will start a new life next to the sea in the beautiful wild nature of the Caribbean Coast in Congo Bongo EcoVillage Costa Rica.

It is with a lot of excitement that we announce that Sansa´s eye surgery went very well. We are now taking care of her recovery, hopefully soon she will discover the world with her new eyes.
