This baby Howler Monkey's sweet little eyes tell a sad story. She was found in a field hanging tight to her dead mother and along with her mother were 7 other dead adult monkeys. The whole troop was poisoned and this little one was the only one that survived. Apparently the field was being illegally deforested and it is thought that they may have put poison in the fruits to kill the animals in the field. This tragedy is now under investigation.

Only knowledge can prevent this from happening and as soon as everybody acknowledge the importance of wildlife in environmental conservation the better.
